How the ask changed over 2026
Each quarter’s scrape used different LinkedIn search terms, so a straight comparison of totals would be skewed by role mix. Every job is put into a role family from its title, using the same rules for all three quarters. The headline trend is also re-weighted to a fixed role mix.

Tool mentions per 100 job posts
| Tool | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude / Anthropic | 1.7 | 5.2 | 6.0 |
| ChatGPT / OpenAI | 4.0 | 5.4 | 5.7 |
| Gemini | 0.5 | 1.7 | 1.5 |
| Perplexity | 0.9 | 2.2 | 1.5 |
| Clay | 1.7 | 2.0 | 0.9 |
| Canva | 14.1 | 8.4 | 4.2 |
| HubSpot | 7.5 | 9.1 | 12.6 |
Claude went from less than half of ChatGPT’s mentions in Q1 to slightly ahead in Q3. The Canva drop partly reflects Q1’s heavier mix of junior social and design roles.
AI went from a line item to a theme
| Signal | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Posts mentioning AI 5+ times | 8% | 11% | 22% |
| Median AI mentions, among posts that mention it | 2 | 2 | 4 |
| “AI-native”, “AI-first”, or “AI-forward” | 3% | 5% | 10% |
| AI agents or “agentic” | 3% | 3% | 8% |
| Names a specific AI tool (excl. Canva) | 7% | 10% | 11% |
| AI in the job title | 1% | 0% | 1% |
| Salary gap, AI-required vs not (median) | +$29k | +$29k | +$21k |
Agent language and “AI-native” framing stayed flat from Q1 to Q2, then doubled or more in Q3. AI almost never appears in the job title: it is being folded into existing roles, not creating new ones.
